Jeremy: A Poem

Essences

Timeliness is an essence,

of a heart settled and yet unsettled,
of a mind rested and yet un-rested,
of oneself and the primary call,
of the peace and strength of clarity,
of a vision of to be and not to be,
of the understanding, and
of the discovery of the deepest core.


Reflection is an essence,

of fresh conception captured and escaped,
of self emerged and submerged,
of finding a beginning,
of the fitting beauty of certainty and trust,
of the certain voice familial and un-familial,
of the embarking and not embarking,
of the narrow path of homecoming.


Journey is an essence,

of new found joy and disappointment,
of arrays of emotion and structural stillness,
of seeking a freedom,
of being nearer to the original intention of esteemed goodness,
of the fulfilment and un-fulfilment,
of the overflows and yet obscured,
of the resourceful islander.


Persistence is an essence,

of dignified passion such that of Luther, Byron and Mccandless,
of the reconciliatory and yet the divorced,
of the continuous sink and sail,
of the refreshed inspiration and forgetfulness,
of faith sustained through fear conquered unconquered,
of the stepping out,
of one length and one word at a time,
of the walk with the persevered.


Restoration is an essence,

of renewed values, convicted and yet still illusive,
of contentment and discontentment,
of the pursuance of wisdom and truth,
within and without the sanctuary or mindfulness for a refuge,
of courage, independence and guided dependence,
of the soulfulness of the quiet transcendental submission.
